OCS Group is pleased to announce the approval of OCS Groups new training offering. The course ‘Upstream 500/505’ has been absent from the current offerings available in the oil and gas industry. OCS Group was encouraged by sector stakeholders to develop an appropriate course in collaboration with the industry. OCS Group has successfully produced, and on the 3rd July successfully piloted, the first ‘Upstream 500/505’ course.
The course ‘Upstream 500/505’ will improve knowledge of API, IEC and NEC standards and appropriate regulatory and BSEE requirements preparing individuals for working in classified locations. This OCS competency based course is designed to deliver the knowledge and skills required for working safely in a potentially explosive atmosphere. The course has been designed specifically to deliver upstream core competency and promote safe working practices through participative classroom and workshop simulated exercises.
This course satisfies the working requirements relevant to the Recommended Practices of API, the Regulatory environment and the Industry Standards of NEC.. The course provides relevant personnel with the knowledge and skills to carry out the installation, maintenance and inspection of electrical equipment in classified locations.
Personnel work experience:
- This OCS module is designed for all personnel who are maintaining equipment in classified locations.
- An Electrical or Instruments background is required.
