Job Purpose:

The Project Engineer (Technical) is responsible for various technical aspects of ongoing solar and wind projects ranging from conceptual design and planning of Greenfield prospects to cost estimation and commercial bid support. You will also perform technical evaluation of potential project acquisitions from the project identification stage through financial closing and construction.


  • Work with 3rd party vendors and engineers to prepare conceptual project layouts
  • Collaborate closely with various departments including Procurement, Energy Assessment, Engineering, Operations, Investment Analysis, and Development for technical planning, estimation, due diligence, evaluations, and establish best-in-class project modelling tools including cost estimation and financial models
  • Support and drive value-engineering for projects
  • Evaluate potential project acquisitions
  • Support the preparation of proposals and estimations including providing cost-savings feedback
  • Establish and originate relationships with equipment vendors and contractors to support Development, Engineering, Procurement, and Technical teams
  • Provide reports to management by producing regular and frequent pipeline updates, project status updates, and other reporting documents
  • Communicate information continuously and effectively to cross-functional teams
  • Additional duties as required


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field
  • 5 Years Minimum of progressively responsible technical project management experience specifically in the energy industry
  • Experience with the estimation, bidding, construction, and operations of utility-scale projects is preferred
  • Proficient knowledge Microsoft Office Suite; high proficiency in Excel required
  • Wind and Solar plant technical design / modelling and investment analysis preferred
  • Experience working with vendors for solar PVs and wind turbines including pricing and market analysis preferred
